The letter D on DAC probably stands for driver or driving. I don't even have a guess as to what the A and C stand for.

What do the letters D, A, and C stand for on the acronym DAC?

Sounds kinda hokey. Betting it was Drug Alcohol Combined (or something similar) database that has grown to encompass more info on drivers. HireRight states it is a proprietary product/service.
Perhaps someone thought Drug Alcohol Combined report was not PC, and just told everyone at HireRight to call it the DAC.

DAC was in business long before the drug and alcohol testing. I always thought it was Driver Abstract Center; they were one of the first to offer nation-wide driver's MVR's instead of mailing them to the individual states. We used to have green IBM cards to send to Trenton for NJ abstracts but had to mail Albany and Harrisburg and wait weeks. That is how they started and it took off because it was a lot quicker than snail mail

    Likely it means nothing.
When it started out it might have had a meaning, but as it morphed and became the report it is today it lost any meaning, but the company didn't want to keep changing the name to avoid confusion so it just simply means "the report designed to screw a driver" or "the report designed to save us from bad drivers" depending on which side of the aisle you are on.

I don't see it as accumulated citations. As see it as TALKING SMACK.
