I stopped at the Flying J in Limon, CO last night. The manager asked me how I was doing and I told him I was disappointed in seeing the handicapped parking removed. He told me it came down from corporate to remove the handicapped spots. I called customer service today to ask them whether they were trying to slap the Americans with disabilities in the face or was there a logical reason for removing them? It being a weekend she was unable to ask anyone who could give an official reason. She promised to have someone call me Monday with the "Official" reason for doing so. When they do, I'll post it here. In the meantime, I would like everyone who thinks it is wrong to call their customer service at 877-866-7378 and voice their objections.
What do you think of P/FJ's new policy of removing handicapped truck parking?

I don't care.
Must be that some laws changed where they don't have to provide handicapped parking anymore.
Doubt they were keeping them before because they wanted to.
Guess they could just keep a couple reserve spots open. -
About time.

In my trucking world, it's not uncommon to have to walk 200+ yards to get to the shipping or receiving office. Walking sizable distances is a basic job requirement. So I'm not going to lose any sleep over this. Any tired driver who needs a place to park and sleep is just as entitled to those scarce spaces as any other driver.

I thought it was a law to have so many handicapped spots. I alway shake my head when I see an open deck Trk parked in one. They are capable of doing all that work and then can't walk a little bit.

lol...You guys are something else......
Really though, How many "Truckers" are actually handicapped?? Ya know, Wheelchair Bound unable to reasonably exit their truck and stroll into a truckstop
Ive yet to see a Billy Bigrigger Sittin in a W-900 bound to a wheelchair -
I don't have a problem if they really do have problems. You just can't tell me you can tarp a load, then you can't walk a 100yards. And being fat or old does not make one handicaped.
Dharok, diesel drinker, Bakari742 and 3 others Thank this.
