As far as truckstop chains were concerned, they weren't really that good, but they WERE in places where there was nothing else. The coffee there was pretty awful, and the food was nothing special, but they did often have bison burgers and even steaks. One of the truckstops somewhere near the Minnesota /South Dakota border even had a bison herd on the property!
I remember one of their locations in Nevada was so rural that they even had a small trailer park on-site for employees. That was a smaller building, but had quite a view, and I would stop there whenever I was going through.
Did any of their old locations survive as something different? Any still around? Abandoned?
What ever happened to the old Burn's Brothers truckstops?

The one at Mill City NV was pretty big. Restaurant, casino, and a Super 8 motel. The motel has been gone a good 10 years now. Can’t say what kind of shape the rest is in as I haven’t been by for a while.
The one in Kadoka SD has gone through a couple ownership changes over the years. It’s now the Badlands Travel Stop. It’s been somewhat remodeled a few times and is decent on the inside.The_vett and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
The Burns Brothers at exit 280 on I-80, one exit west of Iowa 80 TA stayed open for a year or so after the buyout, as an independent but finally closed up.

Jack Burns was a friend of ours when I was growing up. Had a lot of little gas stations around Portland before expanding. For years I used his stations
for my trucks until TA bought them out.The_vett and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this.
