The worst food distribution warehouse is the one you have a load going to.

Meijer DC in Tripp City OH. 5.75 hours to deliver 12 pallets. Product was out of trailer within 30 minutes, but then over 5 hours for paperwork and lumper Bravo Sierra. When I ask them why so long, "I dunno." Great job, men

I always got detention pay after one hour plus stop pay. Accessorial pays are questions to ask about when looking at reefer companies to work for.

    Willow Run Foods in Kirkwood.

They unloaded me fairly quickly (no lumper needed) but everyone in the place I came in contact with was a flaming a-hole.

I just delivered to the Lansing DC and have delivered to Newport before as well. The pattern with all Meijers I've seen is the unload is relatively quick but paperwork takes forever.

I've sent hundreds of trucks into Newport, Lansing, and Tipp City over the last couple of years. In my experience the deciding factor is how bad they want the product. Sometimes they take an hour to get the truck delivered and sometimes they take 6. It's pretty random. At least they have early AM appointments to minimize the damage.

I often do double drops of produce from CA to Tipp City, then up to Newport MI. The Newport DC is hands down superior to the OH morons.
