The fire spread because the two drivers were inside the truck stop taking showers.

More likely one of the trucks went into Regen. (my guess is the empty) This is happening a lot it seems.

If that’s the case a driver may be in trouble. Most fueling stations tell you to SHUT OFF THE ENGINE before refueling. I never could understand why people keep their trucks running while refueling.

I didn’t think California trucks smoked like that. Wait till carb finds them.

Because normal engine heat will not start diesel on fire, in fact just heat won't usually start gas on fire.

It’s not the liquid it’s the vapors you have to worry about. Plus the exhaust from a truck doing a regen can reach 1200 degrees F. One of those trucks BBQ’d at the pumps was a Cascadia, and some of them use the weed burner exhaust, which in regen mode can get hot enough possibly start a fire.

I won't idle while fueling, but I'll idle til I'm ready to pump to let the engine cool a bit if I'm just off the highway.

And I now show one(1) very good reason to do away with all that emissions garbage, anybody measure how much emissions is released from "clean" trucks burning up in the parking lot?

    Oldironfan and F350DRW Thank this.
