Wonder what the requirement is for those diverging diamond interchange things is. Have seen more people who have never encountered them freeze up with confusion.

if a full multi page news article with circles, arrows and a paragraph about each one is required, it just may be too complicated for the average person.

I hate them things. I can drive through them without a problem, but I hate them, nevertheless

there is an intersection about 1 mile away from the packing house I haul into most of the time, and it’s a little bit of a strange angle, and there are several bad accidents there every year. Generally at least one fatality. The state used some of their great minds to decide that it needs a circle there, and they’ve been doing traffic studies for the last year or two. I would hate to see it, I’d rather see a traffic light than a traffic circle in that location. I don’t believe they fathom exactly how many hundred trucks go through that intersection every day, and there’s not enough room to put an adequate size circle.

Accidents in circles are less deadly. That's one reason they have gained favor. I would guess traffic lights are 130k or something. Granted tearing up intersection and making a circle has to cost a lot to.

Ok googles says 250 to 500k including cross walks, for traffic lights.

I have no idea what a traffic circle costs, but I will guarantee It’s probably north of a couple million, especially if you figure in that most of us are pulling 53 foot Trailers with 10 foot spreads, and a livestock trailer has the axles all the way at the back. That circle is going to have to be huge to accommodate that, and if they go cheap and make it too small, it’s just gonna get torn up real fast
