Worked 13.5 hours local today, wore out. 4 self load and unloads.
But started as a mechanic.. guy came into shop saying, "Yesterday on way in my truck made a loud, "BOOM" then went to riding rough. I said instantly air bag. I go out he starts truck, air leaking around DS Front airbag, he called the guy who he drives for, he dont believe me, tells him pull it in the shop, well guess who was in the shop.
So i step back, since noone thought i knew wtf was going on, and they say yep, airbag. Talking of finding a jack and this and that and i said to just get back i'll get this done and be ready to go on to the next adventure while they hunt the jack and stands in a shop people always walk off with tools.

Grabbed 3/4 Socket/Ratchet, unbolted top/bottom, airlines to the T and told the guy to start the truck.
these people these days dont understand trucking, said there was no way i could do as i said, put my thumb over the supply line, "120 lbs of air!! blow your finger off!!"

i got out started the truck, climbed back under, held line, frame lifted i mashed bag off, got the number, got a bag, plugged line with thumb again, put it on, hooked lines and rebolted and done.
    they never found the jack.

In the marine insurance business, that is called an "allision," not a "collision," because only one of the participants was in motion. Not sure if the terrestrial insurance dudes even know that word though. I was just mentioning this to my mom last week for some reason, and then this comes up.

A recent example is the M/V Dali which allided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.

I kind of miss reading about maritime claims. They're usually bigger and weirder than truck wrecks. This one was caused by a loose wiring connection because the label on the connector was put in the wrong place, causing a faulty connection that disabled the ship's engines and power. Investigators compared it to finding one loose bolt in the Eiffel Tower.

"BALTIMORE, MD – Attorney General Anthony G. Brown today announced that the State of Maryland has reached a final settlement of $2.25 billion with Grace Ocean Private Limited and Synergy Marine Pte Ltd., the owner and operator of the M/V Dali, resolving the State’s claims against those parties arising from the cargo ship’s March 26, 2024 allision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge."
