Instead of taking a load from Joliet IL back to the yard yesterday, I ended up going to the far southern reaches of IL to repower a load.
I was about out of hours when I got there, and the guy told me the local Walmart has truck parking.
So I PC up there to check it out, and there's an asphalt apron with room for about 10 trucks.
I parked there, went in and spent about $100 in resupply (which prolly woulda been $200 at a truck stop), then came out and rounded up the 3 other carts that had been left in the parking area, brought them back to the corral, and threw out the two bags of trash some ####ing pig left in one of the carts.
I tell this story not for self-aggrandizement, but to remind members of something I read once on this very forum: "If a Walmart or other private business is letting us park there, spend some money in their store and do what you can to help tidy up."
I'm glad I got the chance to do that, and thanks to whoever posted that a couple years back.IH Truck Guy, Carpenter Scotty, exhausted379 and 12 others Thank this. -
