What if it Snows?

For all of you who knew what he was talking about, here is how I got it. This thread imparts knowledge and rambles on .....

Reminds me of stories Dad used to tell. They burned corn cobs instead of wood though.

My uncle farmed his whole life on the place where my dad grew up. Dad went to college so he was a Democrat. His brother was a somewhat influential Republican in Iowa but fell out of favor during the first Bush presidency. They agreed not to talk politics sometime in the 60s.

Anyway, my uncle was a hard head (runs in the family) and so he never signed up for Social Security and never changed his clocks for Daylight Saving Time. He was always an hour late, so the rest of the family learned to tell him or my aunt that whatever (like Thanksgiving dinner) would start an hour earlier than the actual plan.

And he fulfilled the prophecy my dad used to make and showed up at his own funeral an hour late. You could blame the undertaker except that guy buried the rest of the family in town and was never late. My suspicion is that he made a deal with the undertaker as a joke. It would be like him to do that.

I take after my uncle a lot. My dad and I agreed not to talk politics sometime in the 80s after a big argument about Social Security when I said it was a gigantic Ponzi scheme I would be forced to pay into and never get a dime from it. I think I might win that bet, too.

 

Hahaha Hahahaha. It's been awhile since I've heard that one.

It’s some manner of bird toy, a hoop with some beads on a rod through it that they do bird stuff with, I’m the layman. Mrs. Carpenter is in charge of our small urban zoo. The 3 dogs, a rabbit, 2 Guinea pigs, and now an even 10 birds. She does hospice care at work, at home here her patients pull through. She likes the outlet of the critter care
