"Working was the plowing, discing, planting, combining, hay baling, and any needed fence building or fence fixing and done after sunup and afore sundown. Quit the work and go start the chores.
Work could be picked back up tomorrow, unless it was raining. If raining, fix any hayracks or feed troughs in the barn or straighten baling wire to reuse in the shop and some of the little things piled up there to do when it is raining too much to work. (A dam,n fine line it was)

 

I have stopped at an indigenous Loves for a ten (10) hour break so I can get through the detour ahead under cover of darkness using stealth. Turns out I can in fact drop this load early at the receiver (contrary to what night dispatch told me yesterday) so I will be heading toward the Ho tomorrow morning, Lord willing, without having to bust my ### to make on time delivery. Plus, I'll finally be back on the morning shift. It's amazing what a good visit with the rhinoceros and a shower can do.

Know of a man who made MD in Neurosurgery. Pressure at interning on first job was too much.
He returned and into Oncology/Hematology.. Doing very well for years.
The kicker:
Brain surgery is risky and tense.Error and patient may die.
Oncology patient arrives..
They are prolly going to die, just provide a possible cure or ease ministrations.
Difference is: The foregone conclusions, while you work.

 

Ya know, I wonder if any actual full-time truck driver ever won a lottery. Maids, homeless, laid off's and similar seem to.
Make a man wonder if he should still fool with this trucking thing. Maybe a career adjustment.

Actually one did a few ago in, yes Orygun. He was just passing through and bought one. Miracles do happen. Heck I wouldn't even set the brakes I'd be out of the cab so fast.

 

Video games? Never had one growing up- we were so poor that if I had not been born a little boy would not have had anything to play with.

 

I think the one we went to was near Franklin Tenn. it was better than the one in ft. Collins.
