Does that mean good things for rates on paper products?
Dave_in_AZ, Deere hunter, otherhalftw and 1 other person Thank this. -
Been there for all my driving years ... 3 in Portland area, 1 in St. Helens, 1 south of Albany, and 3 come to mind up in WA.
So, no the rates will be same as usual....in the pot so to speak.
Also, there are two locations in the L.A. area that make TP from stock feed from OR and WA. If you see Georgia Pacific, that is their thing, not just west coast but Georgia, NY, Jersey, OH, and IN that come to mind.Dave_in_AZ, WesternPlains and 51.50 Thank this. -
l would guess the Halsey plant is producing 75 to 100 loads daily. l called just now but they close at 4pm so l will find out tomorrow.
Dave_in_AZ, WesternPlains and otherhalftw Thank this. -

This is a global issue now. No one is buying anything for weeks to come. Your govt will shut down once this gets there. You will be stuck.
People are making this way worse than it needs to be, so its going to cause long term issues. If you dont have capital to fund yourself, you might not be able to get a job soon. Who knows.Rocks, WesternPlains and otherhalftw Thank this. -
Shippers have learned that the "foreign nationals" will haul freight at a very low rate and not complain....so demand be ****** (rhymes with demand)Dave_in_AZ, D.Tibbitt, Deere hunter and 2 others Thank this.

Halsey serves Costco. l know this from my time with May Trucking (the first truck). When l bought the second truck, l refused any loads to, from or through calif. Then l tightened it more. Oregon /Washington only the last 3 1/2 years. l got put on the Lowe's account. Gravy train til retirement.
Dave_in_AZ, Deere hunter, dwells40 and 3 others Thank this.
