It's a "toy-hauler" flat bed on back for gooseneck- 1 fuel tank on each side, but fuel gage is irratic- instrument panel has been refurbished- must be a float--but in the meanwhile, everything I google say 76 gallon on a step side tank. Mine are hidden behind the fiberglass running board assembly- no step on tank. Can ayone advise me so I can accurately predict when to fuel up?

Get a stick... Stick it in the tank. Make marks on it when it's full, and when it's empty.
Better yet, check float and replace if necessary. Check wiring.
Fix the problem or have someone fix if for you. Then you will be able to predict when you need fuel by looking at the gauge.
