Saw this strange tow truck in Mississippi this afternoon. It's obviously a conversion because it wasn't rollback. Looks like it used to be a flatbed for hauling construction stuff as it had a lift gate on the back. The securement was very suspect. They had but some wooden block on the wheels. The straps thru the wheels were the ones you use on pick up trucks bed. Also what's with the two posts on the sides. Do they use the lift gate to unload? Too small i think. Am guessing it needs a dock or forklift to unload.
What kind of a tow truck is this?

I saw a European YouTube video years ago about a truck like this that pulls the car out sideways then picks it up, all from the side.
I guess more for repo. -
The_vett Thanks this. -
That’s not a tow truck it’s just a flatbed with a car on it. May not even be a true flatbed more like a box truck with the sides removed
The_vett Thanks this.
