It is a broad question that can't be answered.

I own my truck, and I own my company. That's the only way to do it, if you're serious.
qatrucking Thanks this. -

2 dont honey duck me aka be honest
3. And dont keep me sitting on a truck stop for more than 10 hours and 1 minute

OK ...
first is provide proof of stability, I have to be told that "oh we had to pay the bills and you will have to wait". So plenty of cash to cover 6 months of paying owners.
Second is a track record of working freight lanes, I get this all the time "come put some trucks on with my carrier I will make you money?" Really? what freight lanes do you use? "ah ... freight lanes? I bid on loads"
Third is really simple, a good contract that benefits both of us.
Fourth and most important 80% - 90% of the gross BILLABLE revenue plus 100% of the FSC. This is beside a fixed accessorial fee schedule. I don't give a crap what a broker gives you, to get me to hand unload the trailer is a fixed rate for my labor, it isn't free and I won't eat the cost.
There are a lot more but these are the big four.shatteredsquare, qatrucking, brian991219 and 1 other person Thank this.
