Hi all so I'm sure this has been asked tons of times but I'm going to be leasing to own and am having trouble deciding weather to get 579 or cascadia. My issues are with the mx13 engines I've heard and read that they are known to have issues and the fact that only a 13L is available. I currently have s 2021 cascadia and my trainers both had cascadias both said they haven't had any real problems with them. Except for the smoke coming in through the vents periodically. I'm looking fore reliability and also resale value. I know the pete's ride better but am torn because of the 13L where as the cascadia has a 15L. Looking for real info so please nothing biased. Just want to know what one has the least amount of issues

I tell everyone starting out to go with the Detroit motor. Reliability is comparable, but pretty much anyone can fix a Detroit. With other makers there's a whole lot more going to the dealer for repairs, and those dealers are harder to find too. When you have a Detroit, finding a shop is almost as easy as finding a McDonald's. Mess around with the other stuff once you're better established.

    Just my $0.02.

I'm guessing truck prices are high right now.

It's okay( asked tons of time) it's why we're here. 1st, Pete's do NOT ride better than Freightliners, fact is, a Columbia was the nicest riding truck I ever drove. If you are concerned with resale, a KW with a Detroit is the only way to go.

Sounds like OP is looking at newer trucks. Not going to find a Detroit in anything other than a FL or WS after the early 2000s.

The MX13 is available at 510hp and 1850 torque. That’s what I have, and I run at 90k gross or a little over every day.
