This may be a newbie question but just checking to make sure? What is the min. Requiremt for tread tires onthe drives? 4/32? Or does it differ from state to state?
    Thanks

It's 4/32" on steer tires and 2/32" on drive tires, I don't believe it differs anywhere in the country.

I hate to sound rude here, but I gotta ask. How can a person be in this business, and not know this basic stuff.

2/32 min in every major tread grove for drives

i normally start tire shopping between 6-4/32 and pull them by 4 though.

Probably not a great idea to let any of them get below 4/32 honestly though.

Surely you look at all your tires when you're doing your pretrips... right? I'd think that should be keeping those numbers fresh in your mind... moreso than say, the 1" of play on your slack adjusters or 3/4" deflection in the belts or whether the spring breaks should start thinking about coming on around 40 or 45psi
