I have a buddy who laid down a truck in the mountains of W. Colorado hauling water to drilling rigs. Anyway, docs say he had a heart attack, or mini stroke, and restricted his Class A CDL. He is trying to say he is only restricted from driving with the company he wrecked the truck with, says he can go to another company and get hired on. Is that right? Would'nt a doctor's restriction be for ALL companies and all states?
What's up with medical restrictions

Yeah thats what I would think. He's tryin' to tell me Werner is gonna hire him, but I know he can't drive for any of these local water hauling companies. Thing is the dude is moochin' off me and my buddies, he's tellin' us that the restriction is only for Elder's Trucking, the outfit he was driving for when he laid the truck over.

Go to the FMCSA site,,, check out the Medical Review Board information.
If what he had was a mini-stroke they just made some new requirements to get a DOT medical card.
