Whats with the loud music and ads at the fuel pumps?

Valero started this crap a few years ago on their pumps. A girlfriend of mine who works for a family owned convenience store chain who is a Valero partner showed me how to push two buttons on the display screen to mute the ads. It worked for a little over a year but about 6 months ago they did something to the pump program keep that from working any longer.

 

Definitely a good way for them to get their speakers stabbed out.

 

A good place for the flip flippers to urinate, is right into those speakers.

 

I hate that ad-at-the-pump crap with a passion. Luckily idling tricks are loud and I always have stuff to do like a walk around, clean glass, temp check tires and hubs.

I'm never hanging around the pump.

 

They'll be putting those in the restroom stalls one day.

 

Never been to a modern bar & grill style restaurant?

 

Speedway and a couple other gas stations around here have Screens on the pumps to pay commercials while you pump.

 

Of course. Never seen a TV in one before like that but have seen ads posted at eye level. I was thinking more of if you're sitting on the throne having something blaring advertising. Never seen it there yet, have you?
