Buy a deck of cards and duck tape.

Put playing cards Into bead between I'm and tire. Use duct tape , to hold cards in place.

Smear grease on the tire. Paint wheel remove the grease. Instant tire shine.

The cards do work well as well as tearing tape into small strips

The card method works excellent. I have used Index cards stacked around the wheel. They tuck right in the bead. Plus you can reuse them.

I think Minimizer fender makes a shield but like everything they make it ain't cheap.

That’s what I would do, put something on the tire so the paint wouldn’t bond. Either that or get a big piece of cardboard and cut the hole out and spray it.

I'd just run a piece of painters tape (the green stuff) around the bead and then attach newspaper or whatever to the tape.
