Indiana weigh-station inspection leads to discovery of 50 kilos of cocaine in commercial trailer | TheTrucker.com

So if dot finds drugs in your load and you didn’t even know about it. You will still be arrested and incarcerated.

Im pretty sure the cartels are paying shippers and brokers under the table to hide shipments of drugs within loads. But why are we drivers getting the axe? No accountability for shippers? You can’t even prove yourself innocent they just right out put you in jail lol. Or maybe Indiana DOT is bored.

I imagine the fact it was a partial load of a low value product going all the way across country gave them a good reason to do the search. It looks like no more than 4-6 short pallets in the picture, and that doesn't look like it would weigh 18,000 pounds.

That was just a decoy load so the 500 kilo load could cruise by unmolested lol

If your innocent you'll be set free.
I can't count the times I've been loaded and sealed without seeing the freight or the loading of it.

When was the last time DOT at a weight station checked your load? And they just happened to pick the truck carrying drugs.
The NSA listens in on phone calls, text and e-mailed then makes a call to state police.

I worried about this when I was on with Landstar. I was running Laredo a lot pulling pre loaded trailers out of the Landstar yard that were coming over from Mexico.

Some have used LTL companies to smuggle drugs.

We’ve had the DEA at our terminal on several occasions waiting for a crate to come off an inbound load.

Not related so much to the drugs, but the smallest load I ever had was a two stop load of newspaper inserts. One skid went to the Atlanta Journal, and the other skid went to the Miami Herald. Two pallets from Pennsylvania finalling out near Miami on a 53' van.
