Don't crawl under a loaded trailer and that won't happen. When was the last time you saw a DOT pull out his creeper for a loaded bull wagon? They only make that mistake once...

When was the last time you saw a bull wagon near a scale?

Well, can't say I ever have...but then I only cross scales once in a blue moon myself, so what I've seen at the scales probably isn't a good point of reference. I've still been inspected several times on the side of the road, creepers and all...but then I don't pull a bull wagon.

Like I said, it's a rookie mistake they'd only make once...

There's a dot cop that works the side roads around cabool mo. on hwy 60. He's not afraid to get the coveralls & creeper out if you're pulling a loaded cow wagon. I know from firsthand experience with him.

This is a "friend of a friend" story so it may not be true but it sounds like it could be. My friend said he knew a guy that had some sort of canister underneath his truck full of some stuff that smelled similar to skunk spray. He had a way to release it in the cab and would release it anytime he though he was fixing to get a inspection. Cop would try to inspect the truck until he started gagging from the smell. He'd just tell them he hit a skunk a few miles back.

There used to be one around Emporia, Ks that wouldn't hesitate to get his creeper and coveralls out.

He was an older officer. If he thought for a second you had a leaking trap, he was under there even faster. Back in those days, US 50 went under the turnpike and was an "S" curve of sorts. Somebody was full and spilled on the roadway going under the overpass. Before it dried, a motorcyclist hit the slick and wound up eating the concrete overpass pier. After that, they were hell on bull haulers. Leaking traps, cow ####s out the side, etc. if they could find a way to write you for cow #### on the roadway, they would.

sawmill, bigguns and Ruthless Thank this.
