I had a fairly decent Monday for a change. A few lite weight but some distance runs.
One from La Porte, TX to 290 just outside 610. 2 drums of 70% Sulfuric Acid.
A Pasadena DOT cop pulled me over. But once he saw A: how much weight was on my truck and B: that I had a commercial inspection sticker. He also looked at my medical card and the company Hazmat certificate and let me go!
A pukey little 31# run to an airline to finish up.

I'm feeling a little better today than in the last few days... After I dlvered this morning in Oklahoma City, got a loaded trailer at the terminal and now going to TN...
Will be recapping hrs instead of reset. Dispatchers so far are doing a great job, keeping up with my hrs and giving me perfect loads, miles and schedules... but I have been keeping them very well informed as well.
Today got a bag full of goodies from company and a letter of appreciation from VP that almost made me cry so nice it was.
So far, folks here have been extremely nice...And I have been trying my best to live with this Peoplenet...
Truck is good... almost the same as the last one I was living in... and driving...
Today I didn't take the time to plan my stop for 10 hr break... and the small truck stop where I was planning on parking doesn't exist any more...Despite of being listed on 2 truck stop guides and GPS... So, now I am at a truck parking area with no services because it was getting dark and I didn't want to take the "risk" of going to one of those big truck stops so congested and hard to leave in the early morning.... I am "afraid" of those places.
Yes... Here, I am very close to the road and it will be very easy to leave in the morning and I have saved some valuable minutes getting in and out... specially with this Peoplenet...
Having now a bowl of rice with can soup and tofu and fresh spinach... then going to bed.
ironpony, Giggles the Original, double yellow and 3 others Thank this. -
I like to take all these situations that are fraught with problems
and decide it is a challenge to me to be smarter then the machine
or to manipulate the rules into my favor
it worked ok fishing for a while
the lawyers writing the laws for the government never wrote them well enough that most of us
couldn't figure a way around them
I see HOS rules and ELOGS the same way
been recapping for 58 days now
now if I could just figure out how to be smarter then my dispatcher is dumbironpony, Dave 1960, teddy_bear6506 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Did my PTI in preparation to drive the final 100 miles to the delivery, and 51 to the terminal. Last thing I do becore pulling out is check my trailer brakes via the valve on the dash.
This morning, they didn't work. At all. Wingfoot here looked at it and determined it is an ABS valve. So I'm waiting on a Dalton trailer shop road service man to show up. Delivery will have to be reschedulex...hoping now after it is fixed I can just drop this at Marietta.... -
Rocks did you start a new job?
volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
BTW....this Pilot, I75, exit 326 in GA has undoubtedly the worst-smelling parking lot I have ever experienced.
