Was fingerprinted today for the HM background check... Took a HM written test (3 wrong answers... :biggrin_2557: out of 30 questions)... But passed the test.

Now, now boys! The last of the E models and the pre-emission C-15 would drag an old Cat around backwards without dropping a gear. No doubt they were the big horses in their day, and a lot less complicated; but the way the 550's pulled and the mileage they would get doing it would shame any turned up b-model. The 2000 E-model I had could go over Elk Mountain with a grossed out load of cars, w/o a shift, if I hit the bottom at 75. Pull like that, and still get mid 5's in a carhauler? :biggrin_25514: I loved that motor!

Good job Rocks! 27 of 30 is VERY good , well done !
I am in Delano Ca. Came down from Samoa ca through the redwoods today. Bobtailed for 20 miles while following my trailer as it was shuttled through the restricted section.

Sorry... Kw9's... got problem with signal... Here it goes my comment now...
Hey Kw9's rock... :biggrin_25519: Thank you... :biggrin_25514: But... I was expecting a better score. 2 of my wrong answers had to do with Radioactive loads and I hadn't memorized much about those... Most of the questions were pure common sense... nothing really hard :biggrin_25512: Your trailer was shuttled through the restricted section and you bobtailed? How so?

There is a section of the 101 between Benbow and Legett that has a 65 foot length restriction. A local company has short wheelbase cab over tractors that come and take the trailer through for over length trucks.
