That sounds and looks about right. 3” of slush that froze solid as the temperature dropped.

Don't bring the trucks home much during the winter. Have a lot about 5 min from the house

Top of Cabbage in January. The way up was...well, it wasn't good, but we made it. Then at the top of the hill, the chain signs were flashing.

Very snowy. Very slick. Not my favorite day ever.

We got the chains on, and the trip down was completely uneventful. Took them off at the bottom of the hill. The end. Lol

I've managed to avoid chaining up for over 30 years.

I know how to chain up duals and super singles but I have only practiced.

The only time that I ever had to chain up to save myself was when I was stuck in a parking lot at a motel in Wells Nevada and I was extremely proud of myself for saving myself a tow bill.

That's the only time I've ever chained up for real in an emergency.

    Take care

Half buried on a muddy 2 track way off in the sticks of southern Idaho. Was hauling a load of cattle to summer range in the spring of 2014. Chains alone were not enough to get me out. I ended up having to jump cattle out the side door to get some weight off the trailer axles so my trailer was less of an anchor. That was a horribly long day.
