It's a mostly useless skill and has been for decades. How much of modern documentation is hand written anymore?
You know back in the day kids were expected to memorize poems and stuff. My mom went to her grave with dozens of poems in her head. WTF was the point of that? Before that when cursive was all the rage there even rules about how to form certain letters when they were at the beginning of a word vs in the middle or end of a word.
Hell at 1 point we didn't even have standardized spelling. That's why Webster started the dictionary.
It's ok to let the past pass away. Not everything is worth carrying into to the future.

 

It works the same the other way when people generalize everybody on a dating app as mentally unstable and/or crazy. It is simply not true and is a rash generalization

 

There has been many of christmas cards and birthday cards from grandma written in old english cursive that have gone unread for almost 20 years now. It is like looking at a foreign language to me
