Prior to the pump seal failure, have you been having any problems with the cooling system?

Unfortunate about your old friend, condolences.

 

Yeah it's got the nasty habit of breaking the back rubber elbow off the pipe going into the top of the radiator...but I shortened the pipe to give it more room to flex which fixed that problem. Series 60

 

Might sound a bit of an odd question.
How old is the air compressor?
Have you done a pressure build test on the cooling system?

 

Something to think about fer sure...

Nice . That's a good dependable engine. I've always thought of the series 60 as the small block Chevy of the trucking industry.
