I take 34s on the road and I normally take them in places pre-determined by an ELD and not always my first or even second choice.

Plenty of nights where I would’ve enjoyed having it for my time off. Which can exceed 10 hours at times because I’m a stepper... you know :p

If I was on paper I’d have been home Thursday night and the customer would’ve been happier... wouldn’t have had to come in on a Saturday for the garbage truck!

@1951 ford You still around, havent heard from ya in awhile? What's the official weather report saying...heard up to 12" snow and 50mph winds, that should keep the truckstops in Salina full for the weekend.

I’ve been thinkin same thing. He turns 700+ mile days pretty regular in a 70 mph truck and an ELD.

The problem is this is exactly what the DOT or more to the point the ATA and the megas don’t want happening. Everyone to the lowest common denominator is their plan, and they’re winning.

Careful with those words. With poor Shooters luck that’ll be by the end of the month. :(

Let’s all hope that Cummapart doesn’t....

Because it makes it easier for them and keeps the competition down. They want to bring a guy off the street, put him through CDL school, sign him up for 2 years and send him down the road. Not that there is anything wrong with that necessarily for a guy that wants/needs to get paid while he learns, but it leads to unbelievable turnover for them because their operations are horrible.
