Hey yall,
I went out to drain my oil on my trucks a few minutes ago and on one of them I noticed it has a ball valve type draincock. I would love to stick one on the other truck as well but wondering where to get them from?

Where to buy this?

Speed shops sell similar drains but not sure of thread sizes. I installed one on a 700R4 thinking I was going to be into transmission more often. Hydraulic supply shop would have them as well.

One big deal about them is if you hit a recap or any other junk in the road it can turn your valve or bust the brass valve off so it blows your eng.

I run them on dump trucks and have never had a single one get accidentally opened or ripped off (knock on wood). They are made of forged brass and stainless ball valve for corrosion resistance. You have to push up and turn at same time to open.

They make a plastic clip for them now so they can't accidentally open now.

They're on all the trucks around here. Had one come open after the driver hit a deer. The engine had about 20k on a complete rebuild. Fortunately he shut it off before any damage occurred. Now the mechanic puts a small hose clamp on it to eliminate the risk.
