Who said anything about a 225K truck? Why are you spending 225 on a 185K truck? You can get a 2015 Volvo from ARI with a 108 inch Legacy for 185K. On a 72 month loan it isn't that bad adding 30K to a loan (considering all the savings and cost benefits).
I do not have one myself (I only do local/regional now). A good friend of mine has a 180 inch ARI and won't go OTR without a shower and sink. The extra efficiency you get by having a self contained truck far outweighs the cost of the sleeper. No more searching for a truckstop with room for you, no more waiting for a shower, need to poo in the middle of a crowded city... ?Find an offramp and walk 4 feet to the toilet. Healthy eating on the road is much easier when you have a fridge full of healthy food and a stove/oven to cook on.nofilter and knuckledragger Thank this. -
CondoCruiser,
I hope you are still around, question about this nada report...:
did you ever pull one of their report?
Does it show alot of info on the truck?
does it show repairs (while under warranty that is)? -
Sometimes you need a bit of luck to talk with the right people to find a great deal on a truck. You may well have to go out of state to find it but in my case the solution was in my backyard.
After experiencing one too many costly repairs to my 06 Peterbilt 387, I said to myself enough is enough and started to make some phone calls, on buying new.
BTW as I'm a member of NASTC, they have a program for buying a new Freightliner.
I got a decent price from their contact, a dealer in Alabama. But decided to explore dealers in TX, and stumbled on a guy working for one of the freightliner dealers. I told him that I had some numbers on a Cascadia but didn't reveal the exact figures. He told me point blank, that he could do much better, no matter what numbers I had.
Well to cut a long story short, he did just that. He beat the number I had by many thousands of $$$. So it was an easy decision to make.
Its not easy to qualify for a commercial loan for a new truck, but eventually it all came together.
I will never reveal the final numbers, that's between me and the salesman, but if anyone is interested in exploring this option, then message me and I will be glad to give you his name, contact details. And his background in truck sales.
I can't guarantee anything but I was really impressed by his professionalism, and he can certainly entertain any serious enquiry with aplomb. BTW I'm picking up my 2015 Cascadia with a 500 HP Detroit next week. Just wish I had done it sooner.
Good luck.knuckledragger Thanks this.
