Which companies are a great starting point to become a hazmat tanker?

Schneider Bulk might pay for private cdl school. They do have a cdl school in Gary, Indiana but don't know if they will send you there. Call and ask about tuition for cdl school in your area. It's a good outfit to get a tanker career started. Another good deal with Schneider Bulk is, if you pay for cdl school yourself, they will reimburse the tuition back to you, up to $7,500.00

Prime Inc. has food grade tanker and cdl school in Springfield, Missouri

 

Stevens Transport has tanker division that works the oil fields, plus has cdl school.

 

Jim Palmer Trucking is a coast to coast reefer outfit. Do 12 months there, then almost any tanker outfit will hire you.

If you want tanker, there is only two outfits to choose from. DM Bowman in Frederick, they run a little tanker, primarily tamko Lime from Bittenger PA off US 30. OR you want the bigtime Hahn Transport in New Market off I-70 at 144. OR... to go Boston Street Exxon and see about third party gasoline or fuels tanker from there, if the tank complex is still operational down that way. They also do Bulk. Hahn and I have a history and not that great. But I don't hesitate to recommend them.

If it's tanking you want you can get it. Provided you are 25 and over for insurance purposes.

 

Trimac hires out of that area and they run only tankers if I am not mistaken. You would have to either pay for school yourself or finance it, but they hire recent CDL school grads.
