Fedex Freight as far as I know isn't buying any new manuals. But we run trucks till they are dead. There are still some old manuals around. As far as I know they will not hire anyone with a auto restriction.

I left Dayton Freight Lines 9 years ago, at that time they had been purchasing auto-shifts only for 3-4 years, so by now I’d imagine any manuals still around would be spares.

That is the one of the biggest drawbacks on today’s ‘modern’ trucks; the quality of the ‘driver pool’ has diminished over the years. We have more ‘drivers’ but far less ‘operators’.
