I've read many who say the classic old Cobra is the way to go. No BS. It just works. ???
Personally... I have a Midland hand held. It plugs in. It's having the whole radio in my "microphone". I like it. It works as good as anything out there. Works good with the antenna's on the truck. And there ain't much to it physically. These days, don't need much to it physically.

I have my old Uniden from the early 90's PC76xL sitting on the table in the corner. Getting ready to pickup a generic 14.00 reducing mike and a antenna set for it and find a power supply to feed it. Its in perfect condition from my last day taking it out of the rig approximately end of 2001. I took care of it very much because I knew I will be using it again.
Won it in Calhoun LA on I-20 I think at cards on their casino machine. A busted royal for a suit flush on a 5.00 bet made enough to essentially make the radio shop across the street pick this one for free.Rideandrepair and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
