Who do i call about driving the ice roads ?

I think you have to be canadian?

Plus you have to have alot of experience they don't just hire people that want to try it.

Good luck getting a work visa to work in Canada,.....Probably not going to happen..

 

You can do a search for Yellowknife trucking jobs or NWT trucking jobs.No, you don't have to be a Canadian citizen but you will have to apply for a work visa through the Canadian embassy.Some companies will provide training and most require it even if you have years of experience driving on pavement.If it's something you really want to do,go for it.But do a lot of research before you take the plunge.Wait, plunge is proabaly the wrong word to use.I don't mind cold weather or snow but the average speed for the trucks on the ice is 20 mph and that makes for a long,slow trip.And walleye,a temp visa is not hard to get approved,there is a high turn over for ice road drivers.I wonder why?

 

I think 'plunge' is definitely the wrong word when talking about ice with water underneath it!
