My 2 cents and im leased on, so according to you im not a real oo or something, my cost (includes taxes amd pay) which i hit being leased on is 1.75 all miles. 2.15 a mile if youre doing everything is too low
Being home every night and always going home every night after each run, thats setting a huge pile of cash in your backyard and setting it on fire.
Who is 100% on their own here?

@skallagrime Never said that! You are what you are and we are what we are.
I have no sleeper and I have a young family. I love my house and home and I hate sleeping anywhere else.
I didn't get into this for money only.
Why are you leased on with someone? Serious question.Last edited: Apr 2, 2021

@Mattflat362 even though it’s been quite a while since I was a one truck owner operator doing everything, I applaud your thread very informative and much needed! If I can offer any insight it would be keep everything possible in house and please don’t ever factor.
Badmon, Coffey, Midwest Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
I still for the life of me can't figure out how slimy backbiting insect factoring companies even exist or how they came into existence!

I just did some more figuring. I am at 260k new to me miles on my truck and I figure another 200k when I drove for someone else. I'll be a half a million miler soon!
I am sure that is green around here! LOL.
Where ya'll at on lifetime truckin' miles?Coffey and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -

My tractor just passed the 3 million mark a few months ago. Makes you think about what the trucking world looked like during that first hundred thousand. Naturally you compare it to how things are now. My dashboard looks the same it did on day one, everything else seems pretty different.

Wow! I don't think I will make 2 or 3 million miles in my career. I am already 49.

When this one gets to 3 million I may be done. But who knows that’s what I keep telling my wife.
Coffey, tommymonza, jamespmack and 4 others Thank this.
