Those same people don’t see the connection between the price of diesel fuel and what EVERYTHING they spend money on costs. Replacing the tax revenue isn’t something they think about. They’re all wrapped up in that warm fuzzy feeling they get thinking about all the votes being greener than Al Gore is going to get them.

Look at the way all the Loves are being built. Very little parking, almost all of it up against the curb. Somebody is planning on having chargers line the curb and charge trucks overnight, just my opinion. Now just imagine what the local tweakers are going to think of all those heavy duty electrical cords.

And that's before Lake Mead and Powell actually run out of water to produce electricity.

Even if you can charge in 30 minutes and for say $50
There's still going to be a $1 per mile tax

Someone’s going to pay for the roads and government officials
Doubt they’re going to work for free

Then of course there's the small matter of supply and demand. A truck will use in about 10 days what a house does in a year, who do these people think the power companies are going to worry about having power first, their piddly little hovel or that 300 spot truckstop down the road?

They have a big problem there beyond their own generating capacity. What about the 25% of their power they import? That power may or may not be available to them in the future.
