The biggest impediment to finding what you want is not having your wife licensed.
There aren't too many companies that will run a single to California anymore. Brokers(owner op's) take most of the Texas/south simply because they can get back home without having to reset their H.O.S. and don't have to worry about the rediculous price of feul west of Texas. It is also harder to get loaded in Cali than it used to be,the rates are low and generally don't start rising until the weekend comes and the freight absolutely must be moved. Many companies don't get out of California until Thursday/Friday,which means sitting(Most companies sit you anyway to reset the H.O.S.)

Most companies want teams for California, especially if they're in a company truck.
Be wary of any company that tells you they can run you there regularly as a company driver. At the end of the day you're still running as a single.

If you want California and Texas regularly then get your own truck or get your wife a license.

There is only one option that I can think of that may vaguely suit what you want.

Scott Lynn Transport(based in Ontario). Mostly produce and refrigerated products....lot's of produce out of the south.

I sincerly hope you find something you like.

Challenger will NOT have something like that for you. The recruiters say they will, fact is, they will not.

Find somewhere else to look than Challenger. Speaking from first hand experience.

Hey Joec43 have you had any luck finding the type of company you described?
