Good for you on sticking to it and getting the truck paid off. That says something about your character.
Experience and observations have taught me that when it comes to trucks, it's generally best to either buy new, or buy old. Trucks generally have two major maintenance cycles. You'll see the used truck market saturated with trucks that are about to hit the first cycle, cause that's when fleets trade them in. The ones that the dealer can't sell, or that they believe might be problem trucks, end up going to auction. Used truck dealer then buys them, throws a polish job on and puts them up for sale. Buyer beware from there.
