the more stupid, careless, negligent, reckless they are...YES.

we need to have the roads ridden of these muckin iceholes.

the whole idea behind the CDL when it was enacted, was to be rid of the multiple licenses that drivers had, and would toss away and just use another one they had in thier wallet.

it was to "clean up" the industry of such iceholes on the roads...

    well that failed, didn't it..??

so permanently revoke the CDL, drop insurance, put out of business these morons.

whether they be o/o's or company drivers.

mega carriers or 1 truck companies....smack them down, and smack them hard.

make a 4 college degree in business, from an actual well known American university mandatory to drive a truck, and that's for ANYONE holding or wanting to hold a CDL

Yeah, the first $750,000 or $1,000,000 will come from the basic liability policy every truck is required to carry, the rest will come from additional layer(s) above that, if any. It would make sense that whoever shipped the equipment would require proof of coverage up to at least the value of the equipment. It would be mildly interesting to be able to listen to the call when this claim was reported to certain interested underwriters in London.

Well that last paragraph would eliminate me and my 47 years and over 5 million accident free miles.
