Why do drivers stare at you at truck stops?

    Was backing today in Pittston PA at the flying J. It's kind of tight and not much parking there. So I'm struggling trying to back this thing in after being awake for 18 hours and I'm tired as crap. I get out to GOAL and there's 2 dudes staring across the parking lot as well as the 2 trucks I'm backing next to are staring at me. Not to mention the people I didn't see. I asked one guy to give me a hand and he just gave me this blank stare. No help there.

    Fast forward about 5 minutes when I get it in, those guys are no longer there and the guys in the trucks disappeared into their sleepers.

    Is watching people back some kind of entertainment for drivers? Why does nobody help? Do people want to see you peel the hood off their trucks? I don't get it, when I was young I always heard of trucking as being a brotherhood.

    yes, it is 2 fold...the ones next to you, wanna make sure you don't slam into them, and take off.'

    the 2 across from you, ARE WAITING for you to slam into those 2 trucks, so they can post that online, and maybe if they feel up to it, tell the other drivers your company name, truck number, etc..

    so you ARE the entertainment, and no one helps you cuz they wanna watch you slam into someone...

    It's dread, you never know if that guy backing in knows what he's doing and some people are too lazy to get out and help.
