Yes, you're right. But this is the way the speeds of a gearbox are calculated, and that was my point.
US gearboxes have to deal with higher speeds, so a higher overall ratio is the best way to keep rpm as low as possible with higher speeds. Assuming of course the torque is sufficient at those higher speeds.

Not a bad looking ride, but lets be real here: 2000 was the last year a peterbilt was a peterbilt.

 

From what I hear it is SCR catalysts, but math isn't adding up. They said they set $182 million aside for repairs on 500,000 units.
