Do you think the terrain of both hauls might have something to do with the hp required........maybe :-/

I don't see any hills in the Utah clip, do you? Nuremberg does have hills, but I don't know if the transport passed any hills.

We have laws up here in regards to power to weight ratios. I believe I read in the regulations a few years back that the weight per horsepower cannot exceed 300lbs per 1 horsepower. We're just following the rules.

Go visit Utah sometime; other than the salt flats the entire state is hills and mountains. The clip that you showed displays the navigation of a single intersection.

The transformer alone had a weight of almost 2 million pounds. According to your 300 lbs/HP rule, you would have needed 7,000 HP just for the transformer, not including the trailer. Including the trailer, the result would be about 1500 to 2000 HP per truck. So I guess your rule doesn't apply.

I know Utah has hills, and even mountains. But this clip was made in Blanding, en the transport was heading towards Monticello. It's all very flat there, and the roads leading to Blanding are flat as well.

The truck transport went from Thoreau (NM) to Monticello.

Another interesting difference, the Utah transformers came from China, the Siemens transformer went to China.

Because rules are the same in every country, state and province, right?

No, but such rules usually do not apply to these kind of special transport. When you apply the 300lbs/HP rule to a 80,000 lbs semi, you get a 266HP engine. Sounds very plausible.
