Not sure about the C, but yes, an early D7. Most with cable dozers, some with hydraulic. It's predecessor was the 3T, which had spoke idlers. The 17A had solid front idlers.

Of course @Caesar knew all this as he was lecturing us on D7s, though he was completely wrong about which machines were high drive.

I'm not sure he ever figured out that the on the lowboy with the jeep and booster was a Komatsu.

Never heard about driving school for trucks here, which offers automatics. Same with exam, manuals only.

That may well be, but that doesn't mean that a synchronized manual like the 16 speed ZF Ecosplit is junk, now does it? It just means that no US producer of gearboxes ever took the trouble of designing a proper synchronized gearbox for class 8 trucks.

Just because you can't shift non synchro box doesn't mean it's bad. It only proves you are stupid. The first thing which usually goes bad on those manual ZF is synchro gear for 7 and 8 gear.

I had several friends with old trucks which had those non synchro boxes in Europe and they didn't complain, no need to use clutch, faster gear changes. Just most of drivers couldn't shift them, but that's matter of experience and training.

Btw. what about those cupholders? Do you admit that Daf can't design cupholder?
