It will be our lowbow tractor.
It started life as a logging truck in Oregon. When I bought it it was a transport tractor. It is well versed for what we need, Jake's and Brakesaver, 18918B, 46k 2 speed rears.
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

Here's one:
These guys' company is located 5 miles from where I live, just across the border. One of the former owners, father of one of the current owners, lives around the corner from me.(He escaped from The Netherlands....)
It is registered as an agricultural vehicle, so it does not need to have the Euro-VI engine and aftertreatment, still on Euro-V.
Expectations of the Tatra were very high when they bought it, but in muddy conditions it is only as good as the tires. No different than other 8x8's.Last edited: Apr 8, 2019

They are not from India, just short disclamer, Tatra now is a product of cooperation of Dutch Daf and Czech Tatra. Both countries with legal cannabis.

Does a O/O with a dead arm count too?
Where i haul we have one.
Right arm is just hanging off the shoulder.
His trucks(past and present) were/are modified so all controls are on the left.
Gets grands for that.
Special licence.
As to Andy.
No,he would not be allowed with a "normal" truck as he drives now.
He would be allowed with a modified one.
In his case it would be a steeringwheel on the floor(yes, that exists,i have seen it) with most controls beside it.
His licence would be limited to that truck.
But the truck owner would be reimbursed for the extra costs.
You will now say...........he is driving a regular truck why modify?
Because off different views in how you view safety.
What can be said on both sides off the pond is that some never find work while others, despite the bad hand they were given in life, just get on with it. -
Legal cannabis? Seems like the people in charge of Tatra commercials don't know their market. Instead of an ad demonstrating the suspension articulation, they should show how many scrap VW buses and Grateful Dead tshirts it can carry.SAR Thanks this.

The funniest part is that apart from the famous "ruhra" system in Tatra, older guys who still remembered them being new (the old ones) complained a lot.
For example instead of pans they used bearings, engines never lasted that long (plus they were air cooled). -
Obviously you need the right tyres, in this case big floatation tyres with a profile specifically for mud. But at least as important would be the central tyre inflation system that you can get as a standard option on Tatra trucks. With that you can drop the tyre pressure to very low values, creating a very big footprint.

I recently posted a video of a factory where they were producing completely rebuild Tatra 815 trucks with rebuild V8, V10 and V12 aircooled engines . The successor of this truck is the Terrno that is available with the V8 air cooled turbo charged diesel engine in Euro II, Euro III, Euro IV, or Euro V specification. It was quite an achievement by Tatra that they were able to make that air cooled diesel engine Euro V compliant, since the basic design is many decades old. These trucks are very popular in the Arctic since they have no liquid coolant. They are also available with Cummins or Caterpillar engines in several Euro stages.
However the Tatra Phoenix with DAF cab and engines is the only one in Euro VI.98989 and daf105paccar Thank this. -
Fred Flintstone must of loved his at the quarry.....
