Late '13.
So oldest ones are 5,5 y old.
Which does indeed mean that they are now getting around the 700 000km mark.
ps mine is a 2° gen MX11.........those older ones are 1° gen.
For our North American friends, overhere we are now on 3° gen MX11.
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

What’s your hp/torque ratings.....?

The ultimate I used myself was on the pulling tractors.
Combination of spring energised c-rings, solid steel back-up ring and conventional (original for the engine) gasket from which the original fire-rings were removed and bore enlarged to fit around the steel back-up ring.
Outer diameter of liner flanges cut down to 1mm (0.040") below the deck to accept the c-ring and back-up ring, and this way the back-up ring is supported by the bore in the block.
Cylinder pressure enters the c-ring and push the lips of the c-ring against the head and liner, even if the head lifts a bit.
Something like this:
Green is the head, blue the liner, block the block, red back-up ring and purple the OEM gasket with bore cut larger. Back-up ring and gasket have to match fairly accurate because they support the head. There is a small gap between liner and head of course, otherwise the liner flange will break off.
C-rings and back-up rings could be used multiple times.
Surface finishes were less critical, depending on coating on the c-ring.
We installed the cut OEM gasket with a coating of never-seize so we it wouldn't stick to the head or block, and we could re-use it as well.
This setup held pretty well, even at boost pressure of 250+ psi.
Probably not what you had in mind to try on the damaged blocks though.... but it might work.
Instead using never-seize on the gasket, something like copper gasket spray may provide a better coolant and oil seal.Oxbow, haycarter, spsauerland and 2 others Thank this. -
320kw
440hp
You would hate it.
Great little engine.
Does what i need it to do.
Earns it's keep.
Zero emission issues.
Would i buy one again.....................???
Not for the weights i haul.97 000lbs or 44 000kg max
For a truck that maxes out at 80 000lbs(36 000kg),it is good.
Anything heavier...............MX13.Oxbow, KVB and spsauerland Thank this. -

in 99% of it is fitted in factory, price of decent quality aftermarket PTO is higher than OEM price, price of high quality PTO is way higher than OEM. You can buy only crap quality cheaper than OEM. retrofiting OEM PTO is several times higher than its factory price. Plus need to count switch, air instalation on chassis, relay, programing of computer etc.
Since we have always automated transmissions it is necessary to teach computer it is now fitted with PTO.
Some computers dont have possibility to understand that function. In that case bodybuilder will do something it is against rules, they will install stupid switch that operates air relay directly without CAN without computer etc. truck will not know it is equipped with PTO. Driver will switch gearbox into D, clutch will be than opened, driver will switch PTO on, clutch is still open, driver will put it back to neutral, clutch would be closed again and pump starts to rotate..... truck dont have any idea it just switch PTO, EDC will maintain idle RPM. only case when you will retrofit pto is if you have stock tractor and some customer really needs quickly tractor with hydraulics. if everything is normal (trough CAN) it is not possible to engage PTO while any rotation happens in gearbox, so it prevents damage. for trucks that need specific RPM for PTO it is possible to order additional computer that will adapt RPMs to demand. You can fit same computer on trucks which will be tipper too, that way you can prevent driver to rev it by his own will thus save equipment -
engine pto is not possible to retrofit on new mb. even if possible retrofiting pto to engine can be dangerous and it should be done by official service using original parts. i know for several cases of problems caused by this. or bodybuilder who did not respect guidelines regarding instalation of pump/driveshaft on engine pto.
at scania it is very common to have factory installed wet kit. Mb have it as option on several models, it is made by meiller but prices are not really attractive. before they offered hyva from factory at even higher price and longer delievery time. can chose 130 or 200l tank 170/250bar dn20 or 3/4inch pipes
