My advice: go to the owner op subforum and ask it there because you will not get a good answer in this thread.

I'm disappointed in you @Caesar. You got pictures of a drivers view with the seat lowered yet haven't come back with more made up reasons of why its so dangerous to drive like that.

    No problem.
I combined both pictures to show the difference in seating height between them. I used the lowest part of the sun visor in the upper right corner as reference point.

How much difference in height do you think it is?

A big German trucking company specialized in just-in-time deliveries bought a large number of DAF trucks, after testing them.

That means they were satisfied with the reliability (important with just-in-time deliveries). Most likely they also took full service deals. Very clever, when a truck does break down, you only have to call the DAF international service line, and they will take care of everything, including supplying you with a tractor to deliver your load. Most driver are happy with the comfort of the DAF XF as well, so what's your problem?

These trucks are economical to use, that's what you want as a trucking company.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that.

So, when you move your head downwards, you can look through the hood? Interesting.

No, big German company which specialises in cheap loads, and cheap labour. Hegelmann pays their subcontractors way less than I drive for. They need cheap trucks. If one breaks down, they don't care. I do.
Yes, but only if it's mon-fri 8-16, good luck in calling them in the middle of the night on saturday. Been there, done that. It's not working, and ITS charges $#@ of money for everything, if a truck needs repair, and you are willing to pay in cash for parts (not via ITS) it can be 3-4 times cheaper. That's why Daf has a really ####ty service.
    Propably they don't use cupholders.

Yes Caesar, your head isn't fixed, on highway you are more relaxed, because you don't need to see what's in front that much. In city you automaticly pay more attention and move your head higher. That's why you just can't compare pictures and show us how seating position limits visibility.

Just to explain you how Daf ITS works (it's so funny).

There's a certain person in Netherlands (24/7) who will answer your phone, but before they arrange service and repair, they need confirmation that dealership will cover costs. Dealership works only mon-fri 8-16 (sometimes longer) so good luck. Why? Because real warrant is the dealership, not Daf Eindhoven.

For example in Volvo - certain person in Poland (or any other country) sits in office 24/7, you ring them, they arrange service with Belgium, and help is on the way in 5 minutes, I don't even need to call them, driver just has to press VAS (volvo action service) button in truck, and that's it! Warrant is not small dealership, but Volvo itself. And it's same case with Scania, MB, and any other serious brand.

It's just the difference in approach, between being serious about delivering your load, and just trying to save money on everything.
