Even our Croate member has mixed feelings about what the world post USSR has become.
And as with many things in life..........the problem isn't black vs white.
As a example, you have Polish and Slovakian drivers who are mad at Roemenian/Bulgarian drivers for undercutting their prices.
But the Polish/Slovacs only got the work after they undercut the Western European drivers.
And then there is Germany where drivers now earn less then they did 30y ago as in Germany a boss can cut your wages without discussion.
All off which means that we have more bottomfeeder trucking firms then normal ones.
That is the reality now in Europe. -
i know that our ex system was not really sustainable but as long it existed it was good , we have now 350 000 unemployed, we have high number of pensioners almost as high as employed people ,
many factories are stolen and closed , workers never get salaries, factories are demolished, instead they build shopping centers , now nobody buy in them , we import everything
big traders dont want to buy food from our farmers but instead they import it , many farmers withdrawn
i was too young to really understand life in old system , at that age my only concern was how to have fun
but as i grown, together society began to change most of changes are negative, today nobody respect old values
as for trucking, also this become nothing, before my father did not want to work before easter and after all saints , he had enough money to buy german mercedes truck instead of locally assembled mercedes despite fact you had to pay almost same amount of money as truck value for customs when import it , at this days he was driving bmw , today vw , at this days he would eat in restaurants and sleep in hotel ....only problem back than was unavailability of mechanics and tire repair shops they had to do all by themself , it was not uncommon to repair engine alone with few friends
today we complain if need to replace spare tire alone
as for trucking now, prices are very low and also since we are now open , and we are not flexible(cheap) competition would eat us,
before we were not interesting because we were protected by borders, nobody wanted to wait on customs and borders today many of foreign companies take over our jobs
our ports(and truckers related to this) start to lose jobs because now is cheaper and faster to send container over slovenian port to here than through our ports
also foreign companies start to open their branch here , mesaroli from italy come i dont know how many trucks they have but there was news they get 110 new volvos fh510hp also they have scania

I figured out, after watching various you tube vids on euro trucks, that it may not be hate for the trucks themselves but rather the euro- techno beat that seems to be ever present.
Add to this that Pop music it seems, must be sung to in English, but their English lyrics make absolutely no sense whatsoever.Last edited: Dec 7, 2013

Love the winter best time for driving and to get to drive on roads like this covered in snow.
Fond this on the tube and it was really well made. Salmon factory in the video is located at the small island Fröya https://maps.google.se/maps?q=63.70...pn=0.009561,0.037379&oq=fröya&t=m&z=3&iwloc=A
