I can't get bluetooth on stereo to connect with my iPhone and i'm no tech wizard. I usually a shuckin' and a jivin' on Mytuner Radio or Accuradio.

And di you know for sure that they have both ears plugged? There are wired earbuds for phones still around, with only one earpiece and a built-in mic in the cord.
Screenshot_20170605-160507.jpg If a driver is wearing one with two earpieces, it's not the best idea, that driver can be limiting his ability to hear outside sounds. In some states, if not all (I don't know how many, honestly), it's illegal to drive with both ears covered.

Some of us drove older trucks that were lucky to even have am/fm radios, plus they only covered one ear.

There is no issue hearing sirens etc when wearing headphone or earbuds unless wearer has music cranked to full volume but if they do that with head phones they would do the same using the speakers in truck. No laws around here regarding headsets

Because cellphones come free with a set of headphones with a built in microphone for hands-free talk.

Bluetooth headsets not only cost money, but take a techno-genius to set up (for some people).

Actually truckers where headphones because after they're done being abused and go broke from trucking, they're warmed up for their next rewarding career as a DJ.
