One reason and one reason only. The sheer size of the rig. How am I gonna handle that monster? Is the training really good? I am an experienced driver with clean record. I have been a taxi and Uber/Lyft driver for the past 10 years. But trucking sounds very tough.
Your encouragement will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you!

After a little time you get used to the size of it, but it does take some time. As far as training I'd say it depends on where you go, who you get, and how much you put into it.

Again it depends on who your trainer is and how you are. I know of million miles with great safety records at SWIFT, I also know of trainers sleeping while their rookie puts it in the ditch. There really is no 1 size fits all. Great companies can have crappy trainers and vice versa.

    Where is your location?
Wilson Logistics is about the best paying company and has their own cdl school.
I'm not knocking Swift at all, but you can make lot more money with Wilson Logistics.
Most of Wilson's cdl training is OJT on the road, not sitting in a classroom. First week will be classroom and some yard training, but majority of cdl school is on the road with an experienced driver.

I’ll put it this way. The ones that advertise constantly do so for a reason.

If that’s your only option for a license and experience, then one has to do what one must do, but the mega carrier cdl mill route is not the only way.

The truck becomes an extension of ur body. No different than being a good equipment operator with a excavator, skid steer, loader, etc
