You need to have a conversation with your dispatcher's boss and if that don't clear things up you go to his boss ect. ect.
Don't be scared to stand up for yourself or they'll keep walking all over ya.

You run the truck, you call the shots where HOS is concerned.

The dispatch staff doesn't have the resources or the time to figure out the details of every trip when they're looking for a truck to cover it. Always ask what you need to know about every assignment. Get appointment dates and times for the pick and drop, and ask whether you can take your 10 at a shipper or receiver's facility. Plan your trip, see if your HOS will allow you to get it done, and inform dispatch accordingly. Get it all in writing.

Yep but there is also a lot of abuse with it, retaliation in this industry through the service is great.

I have a driver in my fleet who I've know for years, he is a good driver but you read his hireright record from his last employer and it reads like a disaster about to happen. There are not checks and balances with carrier using it as a tool to retaliate against drivers for what ever reason and back when it was really needed, it was good but it has not evolved with the times.

Don’t stress about it. You don’t get paid to worry. You get paid to point the truck and not hit things.
