Why muscles lock up

    My sister has been driving for 25 yrs and comes home once a month for 3 days. In the last two days her left arm has locked up behind her back, it took both my hands to break the lock I was so scared I would hurt her what is causing this??? anyone know. She is hoping to see doc tomorrow.
    Help anyone!!
    P.S I do know that this is the same arm that got hurt while in a accident when a lady hit her tandoms goin 90 mpr Six yrs ago

    Iam sure the accident didn't help her arm much that's for sure.

    I tore a tendon in my arm which made it lock up, near my elbow once and the DOCTOR prescribed medications for the problem and wanted to send me to therapy for it but, I worked on the exercises myself at home which strenghtened my arm and helped it to heal.
